Question
Hello, I would like to ask about the re-growth of hair if it has fallen out due to damage. I know this isn't due to a condition and I partly to blame, but when I was 16 I got a weave (hair extensions). At the time no one told me it was a bad idea and I am now 19 and my hair has thinned dramatically. I just want to know, if since discontinuing the weave, my hair will grow back again? Or if there is anything I can do to help my hairs thickness? Thank you :)
Answer
Hair grows 1/2 inch per month so injured hairs damaged today will take two to three years to get to 12 to 18 inches long. Hot temp used with a dryer will cause bubbles in the hair which will break when you comb or brush. Strong chemicals used to treat the hair such as straighteners will weaken the hair shaft and again they will break with repeated combing and brushing.
Use a good conditioner and do not comb or brush your hair with a comb with fine teeth or a brush which pulls on the hairs.
