Question
Hello Melanie.
The package arrived and I immediately tried your first formula (Aromatic Hair Formula) but unfortunately the oil gives me a slight burning sensation on the scalp. Now I added almond oil and is soon past. It is strange, because while I was waiting for your package I had already tried to use the essential oil of rosemary, lemon and tea tree oil in almond oil without problems.
Is there in your formula an essential oil which I am allergic to,maybe?
What do you advise me to do? Can I continue to use the formula or not?
P.S. The scalp was burning but was not turned red.
Thanks
Answer
Hello Valentina:
Yes it is possible to experience a slight burning sensation as you describe. Certain essential oils have a rubefacient quality. As they increase blood circulation to the area they were applied, they provide warmth and may produce temporary reddening of the skin. This is the desired effect for maximum follicle stimulation. For some people, especially those with sensitive skin the formula may be too intense. In those cases it is recommended to further dilute the formula with jojoba, almond, grape seed etc. You may dilute your formula with the almond oil that you have.
Sincerely, Melanie Vonzabuesnig
